Behind the Vision

There were only two rules to building the 56 Hauler... One, remain true to the original 56 sight-lines and two, there are no other rules.

Behind the Vision

The 56 Hauler Vision

The goal was to create a truck that from thirty feet away, the level of customization would not be immediately recognizable. In following this mandate, other more trendy features like contrasting pastels and punchy vibrant colour treatments were foregone for classic blends of colours and materials that pay tribute to that era. That said, there are plenty of contemporary elements that don't scream of their presence but are subtly recognized the closer you get. The ergonomic improvements to the interior and exterior all-metal work is exquisite. Chassis development and balance were important in the build right down to custom polished fuel cells that were fabricated to countersink into the sections of the chassis. This project was never going to be a simple assembly with killer paint as so many "restromods" are today, rather, it was always a ground-up custom developed custom build with excruciating detail to every inch from front to back. As subtle as some of the changes are, there are hundreds of hours in the smallest of details like the flush glass mounting into a slightly chopped and narrowed cab. Another example of staying true to the mandate, the suspension is air ride with full "slammed" mode for parking. For driving however, Ron wanted a more traditional height and rake. The wheels show side walls thicker than the current trend and the custom rims are modest with the offset.

A One-of-a-kind

Ultimately, Ron wanted a world class, one-of-a-kind F100 and he built it. After the debut, the shows and the hype, Ron will drive this machine on the street. As rare and impeccable as the 56 Hauler is, he always wanted a street worthy build to enjoy the fruits of his vision. Reminiscent of the boulevard cruising he did in is youth, Ron will again be behind the wheel of a hot rod. Only this time, there is no compromise.
